Sauk Valley Community College鈥檚 policy on student records complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, which is a federal law stating that a written institutional policy must be established and that a statement of adopted procedures covering the privacy rights of students is made available. The law requires that the institution maintains the confidentiality of student educational records. The College Registrar is responsible for taking the lead to ensure compliance.
