Position Overview
This position is accountable for providing engineering assistance to the Resident
Engineer in the inspection and layout of construction projects.
Essential Functions
Keeps accurate and legible records of inspections, field measurements, and documentation
of contracts.
Keeps the Resident Engineer and Resident Technician, on a project-by-project basis,
informed on status and/or problems of contractor鈥檚 work.
Provides accurate and efficient measurements and construction staking as a member
of the survey crew.
Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties
in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering
or job related technical/science curriculum OR two years of engineering experience.
Conditions of Employment
Valid driver's license.
Districtwide travel.
Successful completion of a background screening.
鈥淐ertain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/5-45
apply to this position. As a result, the employee should be aware that if offered
non-State employment during State employment or within one year immediately after
ending State employment, the employee shall, prior to accepting any such non-State
employment offer, notify the Office of the Executive Inspector General for the Agencies
of the Illinois Governor (鈥淥EIG鈥) or may be subject to a fine.鈥
